Thank you for your rental inquiry. All potential tenant(s) of 18 years of age or more must complete the following when applying for a rental unit:

To ensure your application is reviewed, please complete all the following steps:

1. Download and Fill Out our Rental Application Form (Download Here)

The Rental Application Form includes: Initial Interview Application Packet, Landlord Verification Form, Applicant Release for Background Check, and Verification of Income from Employment.

2. Gather All Required Documents

• Identification: Birth Certificate and Social Security Card for all occupants, Photo ID for all adults

• Proof of Income (submit applicable documents):

  • 4 recent pay stubs (if paid weekly), 2 recent pay stubs (if paid bi-weekly), 1 recent pay stub (if paid monthly), Social Security documentation, Current Section 8 Authorization Letter, Court documentation for alimony or child support, Unemployment benefit documentation, Proof of any other income

• Bank Statements: Two months of current, consecutive bank statements

3. Participate in Required Programs

• Attend and complete the Tenant/Renter Class

• Attend and complete Rental Counseling

4. Submit Your Application

• Deliver your completed application along with all required documents to Lisa Bennett (lbennett@nhsnb.org)

• Important: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Ensure all sections are filled out—leave no blanks.

5. Background Check

• After your application is reviewed, you will be contacted to complete the background check forms.

• Submit a $30 non-refundable background check fee for each adult applicant (payable by cashier’s check or money order only).
